July 2010
We praise the Lord for a wonderful and fruitful month of June!
The Lord allowed us to see six (6) precious young people come to know
Christ as personal Savior (one of those was a teen-aged young lady)!
God loves souls! Churches must never lose sight of the focus we must
have to win people to Christ! Eternity will rejoice that we did!
It was our joy to conduct either one-day or weekly Bible schools in seven
different churches during June! Our grateful we are that the Lord
would see fit to use us for His glory.
The time is drawing nearer to a day many dads sort of dread: my
daughter Bethany is now engaged to Jason Seymour! It looks like a
wedding is coming next summer! Some say I am not losing a daughter,
but gaining a son ... Oh, well...
Brethren, pray for us,
The Moore family
June 2010
School is out. Summer is in. We are changing "shifts". I am late in
writing this newsletter, so forgive me.
I participated in two graduations within the last couple of weeks. We
graduated three (3) seniors at the Victory International Christian
Academy. Then I helped in the graduation at the Cornerstone
Bible College, Bassett. Four students graduated with various
diplomas and degrees. Amidst all this, we had "Graduate Sunday" at the
Faith Baptist Church,
Ringgold, celebrating with three of our young ladies their
high school graduations.
What a highlight for so many! I preached to the church on "That Great
Graduation Day", when the Lord comes to take us home! Hallelujah!
In less than two weeks we have conducted five (5)
Vacation Bible Schools (four were one-days and one was four
days--confusing?). We saw two saved in those meetings! Please pray that
we may see more make eternal, life-changing decisions!
Bethany has finished her third year in college .... I cannot conceive that
this is possible! It is further difficult to think that she will graduate
from college in one year! It seems like just yesterday that she graduated
from five-year-old kindergarten!
Continue to pray for us all!
April and spring came with great welcome from many people, I am certain.
In this area, we had a much harsher winter than normal. As much as I
thoroughly enjoy winter, I was actually glad to see the change to warmer
weather. The flowers are beautiful in my front yard as I viewed them
yesterday afternoon. Certainly the Lord does all things well.
We enjoyed ourselves so much as I preached revival services at the Sandy
Level Baptist Church, Sandy Level, Virginia, last month. Dr. and Mrs.
Kendell Smith were such gracious hosts, not to mention his dear people
being so responsive. We had good services each night, as well as good
attendance. This latter fact impressed me since many churches have
stopped conducting revival meetings. In one way, I see the validity of
this move because worldly cares have pushed weekly services to the side
and folks do not attend. Pastors are embarassed that people will not turn
out. On the other hand, however, I firmly believe that once you stop
having revival services, it will become very difficult to reinstate them.
As much as we would hate to admit it, church attendance is a habit.
Once you get out of it, it is hard to get back!
Nevertheless, we thank God for a good moving of the Lord in those services
and trust the Lord will add to this church through the meeting. Please
pray for our summer meetings. Look at our itinerary and pray for the VBS
services!
Bethany has finished her third year of studies at Piedmont Baptist
College. She is now a senior and will graduate next year! Please
continue to pray for her.
Brethren, pray for us,
April 2010
The severity of this last winter has brought a greater
appreciation to many people concerning the spring and
warmer weather! We have truly seen some beautiful
days recently! Isn't that just like the grace of
God? It makes the murkiness of winter like new
through the sunshine and warmth of His love.
At Faith Baptist Church, we have just conducted a
Prophecy Conference with Dr. Billy Martin. Still
going strong at 78 years young, Dr. Martin has been a
pastor, evangelist and done missionary work for
several decades. His scholarly wisdom and Godly
character provided us a wonderful Bible conference!
Not only were our people helped, but the better than
20 preachers in attendance were blessed as well.
Pray for me as I will begin a revival effort with Dr.
Kendall Smith and the good people of Sandy Level
Baptist Church, Sandy Level, Virginia, April 11-14.
Pray that the Lord will give us a sweet visitation of
His Holy Spirit. Dr. Smith is a dear friend and
former student from the Cornerstone Bible College,
Bassett. We look forward to this meeting.
If you look at our itinerary, you will see bookings
for summer VBSs. If we can help your church, please
do not hesitate to call.
It is hard to believe that our daughter Bethany will
be finishing her third year of studies at Piedmont
Baptist College. One more year and she will
graduate. It only seems like yesterday that she
graduated from high school. It has been an emotional
roller coaster ride for Dad and Mom, but His grace has
proven sufficient!
Brethren, pray for us,

Churches have taken a beating with this winter weather. Many churches in
our area (including us) have had to miss services due to the snow, sleet
and ice. As dangerous as it can be, though, it is so very beautiful!
We had a wonderful Valentine's Banquet in February. Sister Darlene
prepared a wonderful menu for the folk of Faith Baptist Church: salad,
baked spaghetti, garlic bread, dessert and beverage. One of my good
friends, Brother Daniel Church and his dear wife Holly attended. Brother
Church challenged us about love through the book of Ruth. The most
exciting thing was a lost man attended and heard the gospel! Pray for
him; the Lord knows all about it!
I have traveled for years in churches conducting revival and VBS
meetings. Now I am asking people to come visit the Faith Baptist Church,
Ringgold, Virginia, for a soul-winning campaign to be conducted for seven
weeks straight, beginning March 7 on Sunday morning. I will be drawing a
series entitled, "The Person and Work of the Holy Spirit", and the member
of FBC that brings the most visitors will receive this large art work at
the close of the seven-week Sunday morning sessions.
Why do this? Read John 1. The common denominator in this passage is how
those people continually brought others to Jesus. Let's learn from the
Word. Please pray for souls to be saved during this campaign. May the
Lord help us to be fishers of men!!!!
Brethren, pray for us,
2010? Let's not go there! Time is on the move, waiting for no man!
Although I have new responsibilities as pastor of
Faith Baptist Church of
Ringgold, I am always
thankful for any opportunity to still do my chalk ministry. In December, I
had the following privileges:
1. I preached at the Christmas banquet at the
Hilltop Baptist Church,
Asheboro, NC, for Pastor
Bo Wansley. I taught him a few years ago at Greensboro Bible Institute and it
was a joy to see him once again.
2. I preached at the Christmas program at the Victory Christian Academy in
Fieldale, where I serve as administrator. We had approximately 80-90 in
attendance and the gospel was presented in word and drawing!
3. Our church joined other churches for a Watchnight service at the
Victory Baptist Church,
Ringgold, pastored by Chad Branch. I had the privilege of preaching and
drawing the old year out and the new year in.
Drawing Nigh to God Ministries is still going! If pastors can use us
for
revival meetings, VBS, special services, please do not hesitate
contacting us.
Pray for Bethany as she is halfway through her junior year of college. The
work still piles up! She is planning a
summer mission trip to the
Dominican Republic, but needs $1500 for plane fare. If you can help
with this, please contact us.
God bless you! Brethren, pray for us!

November 2009
We assumed our new position as pastor
of the Faith Baptist Church, Ringgold. Pray that we
might be what the Lord would have us to be in trying to
help these good people.
The Lord allowed me to conduct a
revival meeting at the Holland Road Baptist Church,
Danville. Pastor James Mayes said they had not seen
such good attendance since Evangelist Maze Jackson used
to preach there years ago. I preached and drew a series
called "Back to the Basics", taken from I John and
dealing with assurances of salvation. Sometimes we need
to return to simple foundational truths.
I am writing this on November 1. The
church honored me with a "Pastor Get Acquainted Day" in
order to introduce me to the community. We had several
visitors in the morning service; I preached and drew on
"The Beauty of the Beautiless One" from Isaiah 52 and
53. The church provided a luncheon for which many
attended. Pastor Chad Branch and his choir preached and
sang at the 1:30 service. Several local preachers and
churches were represented as Pastor Branch preached on
"Moses my servant is dead" from Joshua one.
Below are pictures of the
events provided by Bro. David Towler. Pray for this
ministry.
In Him,
The Moores
